Established in 1999... As a real estate developer I spend a lot of time in these neighborhood so I was tired of driving into Boston to get Indian food all the time. After some research getting the right kind of team, we ventured into Shanti -Taste of India. We are humbled to say that we have been serving the Dorchester neighborhood for 12 years and counting. In 2012, Shanti was awarded "BEST OF BOSTON 2012" for best Indian restaurant of Boston. My wife and I continue to serve our guests. One of our favorite thing is seeing guests that used visit Shanti when they were dating and now they visit with their kids. That word was "Shanti" means peace in Sanskrit. We hope to transport our guest to a more peaceful place with both the ambiance and the cuisine. In Shanti you will find more then Indian cuisine, you can also enjoy some Bangledeshi style of cooking i.e Bhuna. Beyond enjoying a unique blend of cuisines, eating at Shanti is also an opportunity to learn about a region that is largely unknown to the rest of the world. We are immensely grateful to all our guests for all their support that has brought us to our 12th year and counting. In 2013 we found ourselves in another wonderful neighborhood Roslindale Village, to home another Shanti.

Murphy’s Taproom opened in April of 2007 in the gas light district of downtown Manchester, New Hampshire. The Irish pub feel to the location is the vision of founder and co-owner Keith Murphy. When Murphy’s first opened it consisted solely of the front room of 494 Elm Street. Over the past six years there have been numerous additions to the establishment, to include a back room where local bands perform when the deck is not open, a 300-person, two-story outdoor deck that hosts events and live music throughout the spring, summer and early fall months, and a diner next door to the Taproom that serves breakfast all day (as well as numerous other offerings). Recently, Murphy’s increased their draft offerings to 120 – the largest in the State of New Hampshire, and one of the largest in the nation. Murphy’s Diner opened in 2012 next door to Murphy’s Taproom in Manchester. Run by proprietors Keith Murphy and Kelleigh Domaingue Murphy, the diner offers an eccentric and eclectic dining experience in an art deco environment. Our booths were custom made to provide guests with privacy and comfort. While we’re typically always playing a mix of your favorite songs from the 80s, we also have a jukebox where you can play two of your favorite hits for a quarter. Our menu is best described as “comfort food with a twist.” We’re vegetarian and raging-carnivore friendly, with a jam-packed menu featuring everything from meat loaf and eggs to fish and chips, from our homemade macaroni and cheese to our famous Captain Crunch french toast, or Red Velvet pancakes. Our mission is to make the best pizza. Our crust is “naturally leavened” which means we don't use commercial yeast. We keep a starter alive which is a symbiotic culture of bacteria and yeast (fungus). The bacteria give the dough flavor by making acid. The fungus metabolizes sugar creating CO2 which makes the dough fluffy. We knead our dough in an old italian diving arm mixer. We weigh and form each dough by hand. Our sauce is just crushed plum tomatoes and salt. Our oven is a cross between a bread and pizza oven. It has a slightly higher vault which allows the convection of the flame to cook the top of the pizza. The extraordinary mass of the 1400 fire brick core soaks up heat and cooks the pizza through conduction. Radiant heat is released from the brick which aids slightly in the cooking process and completes the three forms of heat transfer. The oven is heated with wood only and stays around 900-1000 degrees Fahrenheit.
