Who is this girl?
Art lover, teacher, Bitcoin enthusiast.
My name is Irina Bezruchko. I am a native of St. Petersburg, Russia, living in San Antonio, TX. I was educated in NYC and Dublin, and went on to complete my Masters Thesis on Federico Fellini’s Italian Cinema. My interest in cinema, particularly its predominance of form over language, has largely influenced my work as an artist. Giving the canvas the ability to retain its mystery while expressing its message in raw form, is at the core of my artistic achievements.
While living in Italy, on Lake Bracciano outside Rome, I prepared a series of group exhibits of abstract expressions with a content of color and textures. I used many of the natural materials e.g., stone, glass, clay, found in my idyllic lake surroundings, that I aimed at translating into a balance between the free dynamic expression of raw abstract art and the rooted simplicity of sheer color and form.
After relocating back to the United States, I began teaching in San Antonio, Texas. I continued pursuing my love for art, getting certified as an art teacher and creating an art curriculum for a local private academy. I since had a number of exhibits in the vibrant San Antonio artistic community including ArmonArtstudio at the Blue Star Art Galleries.
Currently I am working on a series of paintings that are inspired by Bitcoin and its community. This is a shift in my work away from pure abstract expressions into the symbolic realm of Bitcoin and its potential influence on the world. I strongly believe in the future of Bitcoin; the potential it has to break down the confinement between cultures; the prospective it has on our humanity. I have been closely following its progression and feel there is a need to bring it to the artistic level. My way of communicating is through art, and I want to use that ability as another voice in support of Bitcoin.
