Jim Borgardt, LMFT (Santa Monica)
You might have come to this website because of some impasse, some problem that you find you cannot solve for yourself, and now need help. As your therapist, I can help you find the solutions that work for you and that you can put to work in your life. This might seem impossible, but once involved, you will feel less helpless, overwhelmed, or frightened. I provide a good working climate in which you can articulate your difficulties, empathic feedback for the dilemma you find yourself in, and support for the efforts you are willing to make to turn things around.
My education in psychology goes back to UCLA (undergrad) and Antioch University for my Masters in Clinical Psychology. This included a thorough knowledge of psychodynamic/psychoanalytic psychotherapies, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), as well as many others. I utilize tools from these approaches and others that best suit your needs.
This may not be enough to give you a clear and comprehensive view of me as a therapist. So I offer a free consultation, one in which you can get a much better idea of what it might be like to do therapy with me. If interested, please call.
