Organic Parking was developed from a collective need for a better city parking solution. The app's creators, having spent years driving (and parking) in cities around the world, are no strangers to the difficulty of parking on busy streets. After researching barriers that exist with our current free-for-all system, the Organic Parking team found three points to address: it's often hard to find a public space, it's difficult to afford a private space, and it's stressful to make plans without a guarantee of finding parking.
So we asked ourselves — what if a person that is parked where you plan to be could save a spot for you until you arrive? Well, with a greater portion of our population making smartphones part of their everyday lives, we knew that our solution relied on the development of a communication and exchange platform between these two drivers. Our goal is to facilitate this interaction within your community, so you can be able to park your car seamlessly and affordably, no matter where you go, and never stress over city parking again.

Onarbor is a startup university. Like all universities, it aims to help people publish and fund original science and art, collectively "works", as well as fund the reviews of these works. Reputation, which can thought of as a G.P.A., is built through voting on the works and reviews and by being invited to collaborate on works.
Works can be any type of digital content: documents, film, music, images, files, or HTML5 apps. Reviews of the works are in text. Funding for both the works and reviews occurs through the digital currencies, Dogecoin and Bitcoin. Funding amounts are set by the works/reviews creators and can be free or have a fixed floor with flexible ceiling. Dogecoin tipping, as made popular on Reddit, is also possible in the reviews' commenting threads. So to put into context to other sites you might know, Onarbor is part Kickstarter, part Stackoverflow, and part Github.
Onarbor launches with original research published by MIT and Harvard faculty (Tim Peterson, Onarbor's CEO, currently works in Harvard's Chemistry and Chemical Biology department) but publishing is open to anyone and Onarbor supports all academic disciplines, both the sciences and the arts.
The overarching idea for Onarbor is to provide academics with a rewarding, efficient, and yet highly collaborative environment to lessen our reliance on the myriad granting and publishing mechanisms we currently must navigate. Onarbor being a distributed university is an ideal platform to support such a mission.
